Charlene is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) currently working at St. Joseph Medical Center in Orange, CA. Long ago she discovered with her ability to adapt to different scenarios while training dogs, she was able to quickly adapt to the rapidly changing medical field advancements. With her knowledge, experience and expertise, Charlene not only excels in her at work; she also is a highly sought-after and respected dog trainer as well. Charlene holds a BA in Biology with a minor in Microbiology. She interned at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Long Beach, CA, where she achieved her objective of becoming a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. The numerous medical field advances in procedures and protocols have allowed her to provide reliable, superior test data to physicians, in a timely manner.

She has over 50 years’ experience working with and training dogs. She began by dog training with White German Shepherds (family pets), later changing to Chesapeake Bay and Labrador Retriever Breeds. Her stellar reputation as a responsible American Kennel Club (AKC) breeder, obedience dog trainer, competitor, and AKC Hunt and Field Trial Judge is well deserved. Charlene met Sherry and her husband Rhein at a Make-A-Wish event. Sherry was looking for a scion dog for her Barker. Charlene had a litter of Labrador Retrievers, and gifted her the next Barker puppy, Ambassador Doc Barker. Their long-standing friendship continues as Charlene enthusiastically joins the Barker Dog Foundation, as a board member.
